One might be confronted with the thoughts/ questions of: "What are truly the things that divide us as human"
-Why is there so much hatred and division around the world?
-Why is it sometimes hard for persons of other group to live together in a country without being divided amongst the different lines that make them diverse in nature?
(Nigeria, South Africa, United states, India, Myanmmar etc)
When posed with the question: “What are the things that divides us?”
Many of us ofcourse, would answer without hesitation that (Religion, Race, Regions or Tribes) are those things that cause harm and division in the world and to some extent, many would argue that it has indeed been more of a curse than blessings to us.
But how true that is; depends on how we as human see those things that make us diverse.
Every human has their way of reasoning, and this is part of the thing that makes us unique; being able to differentiate between right and wrong.
At this Century and point, we should understand that things are usually as bad as we want them to be and when we make ourselves believe that diversity is what divides us and causes harm, We then slowly start to build some sort of hatred for others because deep within ourselves we feel divided between the lines of religion, race and tribe.
Many times, we as human tend to build hatred and division where none exist but the truth remains that: "diversity is what makes us unique- Having to experience from one another what it means to be different; we slowly start to appreciate diversity and what it entails.
For year’s people of different race, tribe and religion have always had misunderstanding among themselves which in some cases lead to bloodshed, hatred and so much disgust among them.
This brings us back to the question: “if race, religion and tribe do not divide we, then what are the things that truly divide us?”
The answer to this question has always been there for us to see but how clearly we see it depends on how sincere we are to acknowledge the truth.
People usually have the idea that most African countries have hatred among themselves due to the fact that they have so much tribe or are backdated or because more than one religion is operating in same country at similar proportion- To some extent this may be true but hatred have always been the nature of human; how well we control it, shows how strong we are because it is easy to hate than to love.
America they say: "is a civilized country which has moved far beyond discrimination of others" But even at that, "many years down the road" America has been fighting racial division among its own people(Police shooting black teens, institutionalized Discrimination etc).
The hatred between a white and a black may seem to have died down over the years, but the truth is that; the hatred have always been there, more often it can be seen manifesting itself and also carried through the media.
Discrimination has always been a delicate matter but many people tend to be biased in addressing this issue.
Diversity is far from being what cause harm to the world.
Diversity no doubt is a great blessing to the world and not a curse.
We as human and as individual are what truly divide us and NOT diversity.
A case study is South Sudan.
For long there have been disagreement between the people of Sudan and south Sudan, many of them always believe that they disagree because they are of different religion and tribe, sometimes they fight, sometimes they live in peace but after much struggle South Sudan finally gained her independence and then Sudan became two separate country but little did South Sudanese know that it is the beginning of a long battle.
YES!
They may have gotten the independence they always wanted but never got the peace and prosperity THEY THINK they NEVER had.
Even after breaking away from Sudan and being a country on their own, having only one religion as majority, they still constantly fought among themselves- this shows that many fights and struggle are caused by us but blamed on diversity.
There have been many cases where people of same race, tribe and religion also fight among themselves either for wealth, land or other thing.
We need to believe that diversity makes us unique.
-Diversity makes the world a more interesting place.
Diversity is a blessing in disguise.
We need to accept that we are the cause of our problem, if we learn to appreciate one another, our world will become a more unique place.
No matter how much we try to avoid diversity, it will always be there.
It has always been there before us and will always be there after us, we will always rely on one another, that is the trick behind diversity and law of nature.
No one can live without relying on another.
In the end, we as human define how we want our world to be.
