PBM's stubborn appointments(Neglecting the realities on ground)

President Muhammad Buhari became the President of Nigeria at a time when there was an ever increasing distrust and impatient among many Nigerians- coupled up with the hate campaigns which trailed the election period. In Many parts of Nigeria the President was always seen as the tribalist, the military dictator, bokoharam Sponsor among many other names and selling his candidacy in those parts was very difficult but Not impossible. 2003 went by, 2007, 2011 and then came 2015 which saw an alliance among many ordinary Nigerians irrespective of their religious and tribal affliction and also her influential political stakeholders coming together to sell the candidacy of Buhari to their people. The battle had been drawn and those of us who sold a de-tribalized Buhari, A No nonsense Buhari and an incorruptible Buhari was smeared by our own people, insulted and declared betrayals- The Amechi's among us, the Onu's, the Chris Ngige's among others but amidst so much heat on us lie a determination to achieve good- We stood our ground because we believed making Nigeria great should go beyond our own selfish interest or propaganda machine of the then ruling PDP party. We became enemies of our people for choosing an Aboki over our perceived brothers, but one thing was certain: "We were the truly de-tribalized and patrotic Nigerians among those who insulted us". There is a saying which goes: "No matter how good one is or how great our intentions may be; We will always have haters. We should not bother ourselves on trying to impress them once we know our intentions are good because no matter how hard we try, people will always hate us for no good reason". The same saying immediately suggested: "But when those haters are too many in number to neglect, then a wise man should try to appease the haters even though he knows they were never really against his actions but simply against him out of sheer hate or jealousy". The president is creating unnecessary image crisis for himself among some impatient Nigerians who already see as a tribalist especially in a section of the country which had always been suspicious about him or his intention. It is quite important to note that in a country where many still think in a backward manner- it is best to try to appease their meddieval mindset inother not to cause unneccesary outcry or scream of marginalization, as such it is wrong for the President to continue with an appointment perceived as Northern agenda or dominance. The President should know and remember that he is a President for all- As he declared: "I belong to everybody and belong to nobody". This statements should also be reflected in his appointments. What is certain at this points is that those crying over President's appointment isn't crying because he appointed incompetent people- it shows that this Nigerians wailing are more interested in their own being among the appointed ones than in the President delivering good governance to his subjects. President Buhari is a very stubborn President who refuse to be dictated by any or pushed but the President should have in mind that as the world changes, we should also try to change a bit to adjust to her ways. It is good that we finally have a President who doesn't have his political party dictating his appointments or any godfather controling the Presidency from behind the scene but in a realistic manner, the President should know that in politics, atimes a good politician behaves like a fool and also at some point does certain things to appease his political stakeholders. If ever the Presidents plans to return to office or have the backing of his political party, he should try to appease them at some level and for the tribal wailing Nigerians who prefer tribe over competency, I think the President should also appease them afterall among other tribes in Nigeria lies many incorruptibles and competent people. "A stitch in time saves nine". The president should shun his stubborness and old ways and realize that in Nigeria of today- Religion and tribe plays a great role. So far the President hasn't disappointed us in not giving us good governance so those of us who care more about good governance than tribe are more interested in what the President brings to the table(good governance)thanwhat tribe is in power. Nigeria has over 200tribes and that's an undeniable fact- We do not have 3tribes as many would like us to believe, So let the wailers be reminded and publicly shown their selfish nature. In the North alone lies many tribes and diverse religious group- So in a clear analysis, the President isn't choosing from one tribe but different tribes of people he perceive are incorruptible and those he can work with. Prior to election period, in a bid to divide the so called North, politicians and indeed certain Nigeria had declared that middle belt was not really North per-say. In a bid to criticize the President, when Mr Kachukwu was appointed to head the petroleum sector, the wailers insisted that he was a south South and not a South east man; all in a bid to continue wailing.
