Taming the mad dog at your backyard,Part 1:

                                                          (The threat of Radio Biafra):

There is a wise saying that goes: "Say it before you run out of time. Say it before its too late. Say what your feeling and speak out against a pending catastrophe, for waiting is a terrible mistake that might come back to hunt you and everyone else and bring disasters beyond control".

There is a reason why impending harms or evil is tagged as "threat", this is because at that point, when properly dealt with, it then seizes to be threat and for all well meaning Nigerians, Radio Biafra is a threat waiting to explode into a catastrophe beyond control. Legally seeking for self rule or independence from a perceived failed union has always been legal according to United Nations, but how one goes about it, is what makes it worrisome. Radio biafra is a station which feeds on the fears and suspicions of some igbo's in the country, a station hell bent on spreading lies, creating hate, mischief and a station which in many cases have openly called for war in the country.

I remember about 2weeks ago; I got a call from a friend trying to confirm if I was safe, he heard from Radio Biafra that a group more deadly than Bokoharam had risen in Kaduna and the groups aim wasn't just spreading Sharia law but maiming and killing every Igbo in Northern part of the country, he ofcourse specifically mentioned it kills only Igbo's.

Surprise as I was, after ending the call, I had to ask friends in other part of Kaduna inother to confirm if any sort of attack was going on in the state; Kaduna is a very big city and one might be in one part not knowing what was happening in another but as expected, it was all a false lie being spread. It was the first time of hearing about Radio Biafra, so I went online to search for it. I came across their station, website and ofcourse their Facebook page which surprisingly had about 500thousand likes. I slowly went through their post and Alas, the hate and division they constantly spread there was very disturbing and on one particular post, the director of the station had urge Igbo's to prepare for an upcoming war and arm themselves.

In any civilized world, any station or person that publicly calls for wars or harming of other people in the country is not only declared as "enemy of the state" but also declared as a "threat to national security" which can be likened to terrorism- the Nigerian government should be able to act fast to put an end to the madness called "Radio Biafra", we are already trying to battle bokoharam. Let us try to avoid the events that happened in Rwanda or that which happened in Central African Republic where one group is ethnically cleansing another group which they have once lived together peacefully for so many years. One might feel that this issue is being exaggerated but if we must have learnt anything as a people, as a nation, and as one race, it is that the human mind is unpredictable and capable of doing any and everything when it has been fed with so much hate and distrust.

Like a saying goes: "You knew it all along what was going wrong but because you had neglictated it and failed to state your claim, it then became too late and you ended up regretting" The recent trend online by some so called igbo Nigerians is that they now call Nigeria a "Zoo", and if you want to know how that came to be, look no further than Radio Biafra which had demanded her listeners to stop calling Nigeria by her name but address her by the name "Zoo"- an utterance which many had started using. This is how an evil trust is enshrisned on the minds of individuals, if the radio and her director can convince or rather be influential enough to make Igbo's call their only country, Nigeria a Zoo, at this point, one must be very worried that if this station is allowed to flourish, time will come when if the radio calls for an armed rebellion, many would ofcourse answer with much devotion. It is obvious that those Igbo's clamoring for succession are those who have never left their region or intermingled with other tribes apart from there's, they are those who fail to realize that their fellow igbo brothers are living and making a living in different part of the country, be it in the North or South west, their igbo brothers have massive investment and any attempt to spread hate or violent will lead to retalliations, loss of life and ofcourse properties. Succession from a country doesn't mean having an authomatic prosperious country.

South Sudan may have gotten the independence they always wanted but never got the peace and prosperity THEY THINK they NEVER had even after breaking away from Sudan and being a country on their own with all the oil or man power they think is needed to make a nation prosperious.

The Nigerian government should take this threat called radio biafra very serious and should put an end to it before our case becomes that of Rwanda or Central African Republic and in the end, we might all end up saying: "had I known", and ofcourse, such was the case of Nigerian civil war which claimed lives and left the country in devastation.
