Change Begins With Me

The new slogan now is that: 'Change begins with me'. I totally agree that change begins with me. If I want situations to change, I have to personally take the first step by changing myself towards achieving that goal or dream I hold so dear.
Even the Quran says: 'Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change that which is in themselves'.
As a Muslim who aspires to follow quranic teachings- I believe this, but when a politician tells you change begins with you. Then ask that politicians whether he or she is practicing what the preach?
I am not sure who started the 'change begins with me' campaign but someone said the President made that comment when he addressed Nigerians by telling them 'change begins with them'. I totally agree with him, but perhaps the President and our politicians should also practice it.
They should also say Change begin with me(them) by:
1. Stopping shameless medical trips abroad- going to another country for something as little as med. Check up while they leave their own country. Infact, this is very embarrassing yet this leaders dont see anything wrong with that? I was hoping we will one day have a govt that thinks differently but sadly, they happen to behave similar. We are not under colonial era so why da hell do you still keep running to your colonial masters for aids and treatments? Seriously? I dont know why they cannot see how terribly wrong this is?
2. They should have the decency to buy made in Nigerian goods including official govt cars.
3. They should should reduce their many allowance and extravagant way of life. You cant spend millions as cloth, foods, fuel et al allowance(s) while some Nigerians cannot even afford shelter or something to eat.
4. They should have the decency to feel pity for the poor and beggars nd do something to help their conditions.
If change begins with me? What of you(the politicians/leaders)???
I totally agree change begins with me that is why:
1. I stopped relying on the govt to give me Job nd thereby looking to be independent nd self employed.
2. I try to live a decent and crime free life by not stealing or earning a living via illegal means
3. I give my own little advice to those in power who listens.
4. I refuse to shield corrupt or incompetent leaders who have not impacted their country or change the citizens life.
5. I work towards helping others nd I also try as much as possible to patronize Nigerian made products. So change had always started with me. What of you(the leaders)?
In other to make others change, it rest more on a leader to change so that his behavior will inspire others to change too.
- Dont you think Nigerians would be inspired to change if tomorrow the President and senators announces that due to recession, they have stopped collecting salaries and other allowances? Afterall I know President(s) in 3 countries who did it.
- Dont you think Nigerians would be inspired if tomorrow the President announces that no politician including himself would ever go abroad for Medical treatment?
- Dont you think we would be inspired to change If tomorrow those appointed inother vital position who are confused on what to do resigns?
- Dont you think we would be inspired to change If those that have massive corruption evidence against them totally quit politics?
Of course you wouldn't need to preach for us: 'that change begins with us' before we would be inspired/forced to change.
If change hadn't begin with us, most of us would have joined Avengers, bokoharam or other militant groups because our politicians have pushed us to breaking point and frustration.
Don't you dare sit in luxury as a politician and preach about Nigerians adjusting while you ain't working towards changing yourself and don't you dare say 'you know how we feel'. None of you do, at least that poor woman begging do not live in luxury like you do. She watch her kids starve because they have nothing to eat while you watch your squander much money on nonsense stuffs. So dont mock them by saying : 'you know how they feel'. Trust me; YOU DON'T!
Again the Quran says: 'Allah will not change the condition of a people except they change what is in themselves'.
I agree that change begins with me and with our politicians too.
Call me Eedris Ngene, my message is for those with basic understanding
