My Thoughts On Selling Of Nigerian National Assert

I have never been a supporter of selling one's national asset(s). They are, in many cases; the pride of the nation and it is not advisable to sell it off.
There is no money- We get that! Some of us honestly do. Nigeria isn't the only country in deep economic mess. Look at Venezuela and co? To be honest, our case is still better than some countries.
The countries whose economy rely on oil, but then again, look at countries that their economy isn't oil dependent. This economic problem is a world epidemic- it isn't a Nigerian problem but some countries are doing better than some, some leaders are doing better than some. Why?
- Because they have focus
- They have determination
- They have the support of their people and most importantly;
- They have a clear plan/road map!
Do we have this in Nigeria? I am not entirely sure. I cannot categorically state with certainty that we have all or some of the things I have mentioned above.
We need to get back to the drawing board. Every one of us- The government, the people, both enemies and friends. Nigeria is our country. Atimes you have to overcome your political infested minds and realize that this isn't a movie. The country is genuinely in a massive economic hubboloba! I am a Nigerian and I tell people that, no matter how hard it gets, I can always survive inshallah(by God's grace)! I am not worried about myself, I am worried about other Nigerians who are perhaps unable to survive.
When the President or those in power say: 'there Is no money'. They ain't trying to be tricky. There Is literally not enough money to execute certain project(s). They ain't lying. The recession is real. Some of us understand this as good citizens this is why we ain't asking the government to subsidize fuel by paying millions. We ain't asking for hand outs from the government.
Some of us are sincerely standing with the government(s), both on federal and state level- we stand with them as they try to move us away from this disaster but 'heaven help those who help themselves'. While we as citizens live in this hard times and try to adjust. Why isn't our leaders doing the same? Again, this beats my imagination! How can a human being incharge of all affairs of a nation live in much luxury and happiness while others in same nation live in so much devastating poverty?
-Why haven't the president, senators or reps or even ministers and other politicians in power publicly declare that they have forfeited their salaries and allowances the nation pay millions for. I am not saying this for talking sake- it is doable. People have done it before.
This leaders already have money and I am very sure they can survive without the country paying them millions? Calculate the money we pay the president, vice, senators and reps as salary and allowances and then you will realize that there are many big problems in Nigeria and the number one problem is: 'The politicians in leadership position'.
In this tough times, the leaders must lead by example, they need to re ignite the hopes of Nigerians and assure them that no doubt, we are indeed in good hands as we try to overcome our many challenges as a nation and people.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
