The tale of Buharist and Jonathanians(Nigeria's worst nightmare).

One confused individual initiated a campaign calling on Nigerians to demand that President Buhari resign from office; they accused the President of being a dictator because he refused to "free" two individuals who had plans to "indirectly" destroy the nation.

Those complaining that by not releasing this individuals from jail as the court had ordered, the President was taking the route of "a dictator".

As it has become a FACT that "hypocrisy" has become the "backbone" of most Nigerians in the political scene, and to prove this fact and the level of hypocrisy in the Nigerian political scape; those who criticise the President of being a dictator were those who adamantly supported and turned a "blind eye" when the last government engaged in far worse dictatorial activities which includes harrassing opposition members, detaining them unlawfully, cracking down on media houses, arresting journalist, invading opposition offices, and militarising elections to mention but a few.

The political landscape some desperate opposition have pushed Nigeria and Nigerians into is not healthy and would backfire on the country if such hypocrisy continues.

As a Nigerian, and part of the grass root individuals in Nigeria, I am also quick to remind those interested to listen that President Buhari still has massive support(that's a Fact) on the ground.

To confirm this, the petition calling for President Buhari to resign got about 2000+ signatures in "4days" while the other one supporting President Buhari got 7000+ signatures in about 24hours.
What does that tell signify?

Just like the President won an online polls before winning election on the ground and just like when opinion poll was conducted, majority still believe in him, it simply showed that he still enjoys support from most Nigerians and any attempt to forcefully take him out of the picture would be "catastrophic".

It is not the job of citizens of a nation to blindly support their elected officials but rather, it is their job to remind their leaders why they were elections.

At this point, Nigerians should be pushing their leaders to work for them not shielding them but I don't entirely blame the Buharist(supporters of the President).

With all sincerity to keen and sincere observers, one can deduce that the Jonathanians and pdp out of desperation will push this country into a political "deadlock".

What do I mean?

Before Buhari was sworn into office, some of those whom their candidate lost election constantly accused Buhari of all sort of things. He as of then, was yet to be sworn in as President even though he had won election, but he was blamed for fuel scarcity during that period, he was blamed for insecurity and ofcourse, he was also blamed for the falling dollar prize as of then.

It was clear that the tactis of the opposition and those Nigerians whom their candidate did not win was not healthy for the nation.
The Buharist feeling that the Jonathanians were never going to be sincere in their criticism against Buhari rallied behind their candidate.

As Jonathanians continue to criticise every single move of this administration(whether good or bad), the Buharist were forced to defend the President's every move(whether good or bad). So this led to a political "deadlock".

Ofcourse the President had majority of supporters that was why he won in the first place, and since the Jonathanians were never sincere since the beginning, the Buharist continue to always support the President blindly as a way to shield him.

What does this mean?

The Buharist will keep supporting and defending the President no matter what and the Jonathanians will keep criticising every move and as such, neither parties from both side would convert to the other side because they do not really have an "open mind" to debate on who is wrong or right, they do not have an open mind to sincere debate on what is best for the country.
If this situation continues, the APC will still win whether they deserve it or not because the Buharist will continue to rally behind them.

So who is to be blamed?

First blame solely goes to the Jonathanians whom from onset, fiercely opposed Buhari's every move, even after he was sworn in, they continued to criticise, insult and still engage in character assassination without giving the President any "breathing space" or a chance to atleast prove himself. They were being very unrealistic; blaming and insulting a man who was barely "1 week" in office as of then and asking why he was yet to fix economy and insecurity; insecurity that their own candidate has been fighting for 5years with nothing to show for it- they were never really interested in what Mr Buhari has to offer, they had long made up their mind to always oppose and fight, and not see any good thing from the government.

Second Blame goes to the Buharist, whom because they feel the Jonathanians have sworn never to see anything good in Buhari's regime, have also decided to rally themselves and blindly support the President's every move and as such, it is not healthy for the nation and Nigerians because when you blindly support a leader, you at that point are not helping him or the nation because criticism is not always bad, a wise man appreciate criticism and use it to prosper and as such the need his supporters and every Nigerian geniune criticise him when necessary inother for him to succeed.

He needs Nigerians to tell him right from wrong when he is failing, he needs your correction so that when he is going in wrong direction, he can be guided back.

So who benefits from this "deadlock" and who loses?

The Politicians will benefit from a political "deadlock" in the nation because they know that no matter how bad or evil they are, their "blind followers" will always rally behind them while ordinary Nigerians are the losers in this aspect.

Be wise
Be warned
Stop deceiving yourselves.
